What is Yugioh?

'Yu-Gi-Oh!' is a shounen manga series created by Kazuki Takahashi in the 1990s; it eventually evolved into an actual franchise that included various anime series and movies, videogames and a TCG (Trading Card Game). The plot of the "main" series, 'Duel Monsters', revolves around the highschooler Yugi Mutou and his friends, who are trying to discover the secret behind the origins of the spirit that lives inside Yugi's Millennium Puzzle, an ancient artifact given to him by his grandpa. Oh, and they play card games. Like, a lot of card games.

What do I like about it?

Honestly, I think one of the best qualities of Yugioh is that it is comforting in its simplicity. It feels like a forgotten memory of my childhood: I don't remember much of my time as a kid and, to be honest, maybe it's for the best (my parents went through a divorce, we had to move...), but, still, I miss those moments in my life when everything was easier. It isn't really nostalgia: it doesn't make me sad for what I've lost, it makes me appreciate what I can now have with more consciousness of its importance. If this makes any sense.
